DORCHESTER COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY
Facility Recovery Charges and Tap Fee Increase
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 6-1-330 of the South Carolina Code of Laws 1976, as amended, that the Dorchester County Water Authority (the “Authority”) will hold a public hearing on March 17th, at 5:30 pm, at 967 Orangeburg Road, Summerville SC, in connection with the proposed revision by the Authority of its schedule of Facilities Recovery Charges. The revised schedule of Facilities Recovery Charges and Tap fees will apply only to new properties the Authority serves after the effective date. The revenues derived from Facilities Recovery Charges are and will continue to be used to pay capital costs related to the provision of water treatment and/or transmission (to include: wells, purchased water, water treatment, water transmission mains, pumping and storage) by the Authority. Tap fees will continue to connect customers to water transmission lines. The proposed amount and more detailed information about the revised schedule, Facilities Recovery Charges, and Tap Fees are available at 967 Orangeburg Road, Summerville, SC. At the time and place fixed for said public hearing, all customers and other interested people who appear will be given an opportunity to express their views for or against the revised schedule of Facilities Recovery Charges and Tap Fees.
