Last night, a Lake Moultrie Regional Water System main serving Dorchester County Water Authority was damaged by a contractor, resulting in emergency repairs by Santee Cooper Crews. Repairs are ongoing, and as a result, DCWA is asking its customers to conserve water and continue with the boil water advisory until further notice. A major line break has resulted in a loss of pressure and service to many customers of the system. There has been no confirmed contamination of the system. However, due to the loss of pressure, customers are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least 1 minute before drinking or cooking. Use bottled water or boiled water that has cooled for: Drinking, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing food and baby formula, making ice, giving to pets, etc
