Water Rate Increase
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the Board of Directors of the Dorchester County Water Authority at 5:30 pm on Thursday, November the 10th, 2022. The hearing will be held at the office of Dorchester County Water Authority, which is located at 967 Orangeburg Road, Summerville, SC. The purpose of the public hearing will be to allow members of the public to express their views regarding a water rate increase for customers of Dorchester County Water Authority. All persons who attend the public hearing will be given an opportunity to speak. As required by section 6-11-150, Code of laws of South Carolina 1076, as amended, the public is advised of the following:
The board of Dorchester County Water Authority will meet to discuss a proposed rate increase effective January 1, 2023.
Residential:
First 2,000 gallons for $25.00(minimum)
Usage over 2,001 gallons $3.50 per 1,000 gallons
Residential Sprinkler Meter:
$3.50 per 1,000 gallons fixed no minimum billed for water use.
Non-Residential:
First 12,000 gallons for $62.00 (minimum)
Usage Over 12,001 gallons is $3.50 per 1,000 gallons
Non-Residential Sprinkler Meter:
First 200,000 for $3.50 per 1,000 gallons
Usage Over 200,001 gallons $4.50 per 1,000 gallons
Non-residential Meter fee $20.00 per month
Apartment Complexes:
Rates are based on residential equivalent units. $20.00 per unit and $3.50 per 1,000 gallons
